Most organizations are under-listened-to.
Paul Swaney helps leaders close the gap between what the executive team believes is happening and what the people doing the work already know... turning that truth into sharper decisions, tighter alignment, and measurable operational gains.
Two decades inside the rooms where performance is won or lost
Clarity leaders can act on the next morning
He combines the rigor of someone who has sat on a global investment committee with the plain language of someone who has actually run the operation. Audiences connect with him immediately, and they leave with something they can use right away.
Paul’s keynotes create lasting shifts in:
- Accountability and ownership
- Decision-making under pressure
- Focus and execution
- Trust between leadership and the front line
- How leaders diagnose performance
- Culture

Signature Keynotes
Most problems that look operational are really problems of leadership, alignment, and culture in disguise.
So leaders fix the system.
And nothing changes.
In this keynote, Paul shows why organizations spend years solving the wrong problem while the dashboards still look fine — and what shifts the moment leaders start treating people as the hard part of the work.
Audiences Learn How To:
- Tell a real systems problem from a human one in disguise
- Surface the truth their teams have learned not to say out loud
- Improve performance without cutting the people who carry the business
- Diagnose what is actually slowing the organization down
- Lead change in a way people commit to instead of survive
Most organizations look operationally sophisticated.
Few of them actually execute at a high level.
The programs, the dashboards, the rituals — they create the appearance of excellence while the real performance leaks out somewhere no one is looking. In this keynote, Paul exposes the gap between the show and the substance, and gives leaders a way to tell which one they actually have.
Audiences Learn How To:
- See the difference between motion and real progress
- Retire the reports and rituals that only look productive
- Find the one or two constraints that genuinely move results
- Hold a higher standard without burning people out
- Turn the appearance of excellence into the real thing
The higher you rise, the more filtered your view of reality becomes. By the time information reaches the top, it has been cleaned up, averaged out, and stripped of the very details that would tell you the truth.
In this keynote, Paul changes how leaders observe, diagnose, and engage with their own organization — and shows them what they stop seeing the moment they lead from a screen.
Audiences Learn How To:
- Lead from where the work actually happens
- Earn the trust that gets people to tell them the truth
- Make better calls with the information a desk never shows
- Catch problems while they are still small and cheap to fix
- Stay close enough to the work to lead it well

Meet Paul W.
Swaney III
Paul Swaney started on the floor of a Black & Decker plant as a child, served as a nuclear reactor electrician on a Navy submarine, and went on to fix failing operations at Amazon, McKinsey, and one of the largest private equity firms in the world — where he sat on the global investment committee.
Today he runs his own fund, Swaney Group Capital, and is hands-on across the businesses it operates. He is, above all, an operator: still in the work, still on the floor, still finding the truth that the dashboards miss.
